tondi says Free but I paid

Checked against v1.1.5, 12 September 2026.

Pro is tied to the email address you signed in with, and the app confirms it with tondi.app every time it can. If tondi shows Free after you paid, one of four things has happened, and all four are quick to fix.

Check these, in order

  1. Are you signed in — with the same email? Open Account in the app. If it shows a different address than the one on your receipt, sign out and sign back in with the right one. There is no password; a six-digit code is emailed to you.
  2. Has the Mac been offline for more than seven days? tondi keeps a signed copy of your subscription that is valid for seven days. After that, with no connection, it falls back to Free rather than guess. Connect once and it refreshes.
  3. Did macOS ask about the Keychain? Your sign-in is stored in the macOS Keychain. If the permission prompt was dismissed, the app can't keep you signed in. Sign in again and click Allow — or Always Allow — when macOS asks.
  4. Did the payment go through? Check your email for a receipt from Link (Stripe). The charge appears as LINK.COM* tondi. If there's no receipt, the subscription didn't start; try Go Pro again.

Messages you might see

Couldn't reach tondi.app. Check your internet connection and try again.

tondi.app took too long to answer. Check your internet connection and try again.

Neither one affects making clips. The app needs the connection only to confirm the subscription; if it can't, it keeps the last confirmed answer for seven days.

That sign-in has expired. Please sign in again.

Too many attempts just now. Wait a few minutes and try again.

The first means the code or session is stale — request a new code. The second is a rate limit on sign-in attempts; it clears on its own.

tondi couldn't save your sign-in to the Keychain. If macOS asked for permission, allow it and try again.

Step 3 above.

Still Free?

Email support@tondi.app from the address you paid with. Include the date of the charge; nothing else is needed.

Common questions

Can I use Pro on more than one Mac?

Yes. Sign in with the same email on each Mac you own or control. Signing out everywhere, from your account page, ends every session at once.

Does the sign-in code email take long?

It should arrive within a minute. Check spam, and check you typed the address on your receipt. Codes expire, so request a fresh one if it's been a while.

Do I lose clips if I go back to Free?

No. Clips are files on your Mac. The plan only affects new runs — clip count, batch mode, and the watermark.
