How much does Opus Clip actually cost?

Opus Clip is free for 60 minutes of source video a month with a watermark, then $15 a month (Starter, 150 minutes) or $29 a month (Pro, 300 minutes). The number that matters is the minutes: you are billed by the length of the video you upload, not by the clips you get out, and unused minutes don't roll over. A two-hour podcast uses 120 of them whether you keep one clip or twenty.

Free is genuinely free, but note the three limits together: watermark, 9:16 only, and exports that expire after three days. It is a trial with no end date rather than a plan you would publish from.
What does "minutes" mean?
One minute of uploaded source video costs one minute of your allowance, regardless of how many clips come out. So the question isn't "how many clips do I want", it's "how long are the videos I clip from, and how many of them a month":

The step from Starter to Pro is where most weekly podcasts land: 150 minutes is three 45-minute episodes, and a month has four or five.
What isn't in the headline price?
- Tax. Prices are before sales tax or VAT where it applies.
- Minutes reset monthly and don't carry over. A quiet month is paid for anyway.
- Exports expire. On Free after 3 days, on paid plans after 30, unless a Pro user turns on cloud storage. Download what you made.
- Annual billing is where the discount is. Pro at $29 monthly is $348 a year; billed annually it is roughly half that. The monthly price on the page is the one you pay if you don't commit.
Why is it priced per minute at all?
Because the processing happens on their servers, and a server-minute costs them money. Every cloud clipper meters the same way for the same reason, with different names for the unit — minutes, credits, uploads. The only way to remove the meter is to move the work off their servers and onto your own computer, which is what tondi does: the same job runs on your Mac, so there is nothing to meter, and it is $10 a month flat, or free for 3 clips per video with no expiry on the clips. Does Opus Clip have a free plan?
Yes: 60 minutes of source video a month, with a watermark, vertical output only, and exports that expire after 3 days. No card needed.
Do unused Opus Clip minutes roll over?
No. The allowance resets each month.
Can I buy extra minutes on Opus Clip?
Their pricing page didn't show an add-on price when checked on 18 September 2026; the next step above Pro is a custom Business plan.
Is Opus Clip billed per clip or per video?
Per minute of the video you upload. The number of clips you generate from it doesn't change the cost.
How does tondi charge?
Flat. Free for 3 clips per video, or Pro at $10 a month (there is a yearly plan too), with no minute count — the video is processed on your Mac, so there is nothing to meter.
